Plumbing Code
The Plumbing Code of Australia (PCA)contains performance-based technical provisions for the design, construction, installation, replacement, repair, alteration and maintenance of plumbing and drainage installations. It also sets out requirements for the use of materials and products in these installations. In Victoria, the PCA is adopted by, and forms part of, the Plumbing Regulations 2008.
From 1 May 2011, the PCA was incorporated as Volume 3 of the National Construction Code Series (NCC Series). As part of the NCC Series, the PCA is subject to an annual review and update process which ensures that it reflects contemporary regulatory requirements.
The Australian Building Codes Board (ABCB) is responsible for producing and maintaining the PCA on behalf of the Australian Governement and each State and Territory Government. Copies of the PCA can be purchased from the PIC, or through the ABCB or SAI Global.
