The Victorian Plumbing Regulations 2008

The Victorian regulatory framework requires that all regulations are renewed after ten years.  The Victorian Plumbing Regulations 1998 were enacted in 1998, and were therefore due to be replaced in 2008.

The Plumbing Regulations 2008 were developed by the Department of Planning and Community Development (DPCD) in consulation with the Plumbing Industry Commission, the plumbing industry and community stakeholders.  A full stakeholder consulation process took place throughout 2008, including a Regulatory Impact Statement phase, which invited comments from any interested party.

The Plumbing Regulations 2008 came into effect on 24 November 2008.
