Plumbing Industry Training Awards open 1 September - 15 December 2011
The Plumbing Industry Commission is pleased to announce that the entries for the 2012 Plumbing Industry Training Awards (PITAs) are now open. The Awrads recognise and reward Licensed and Registered Plumbing Practitioners who have contributed to their professional development by participating in industry-related training and development during the past 12 months.
Awareness of the opportunities and benefits of ongoing training is key to the vital continuous development of participants in the plumbing industry, which the Plumbing Industry Commission is pleased to encourage. Plumbing is a vocation that provides a pathway to a career that is significantly enhanced and enriched by post-apprenticeship training in an ever-evolving industry. It is essential that practitioners undertake training to stay up-to-date with emerging trends and applications.
A vibrant and active industry needs the latest in training content and delivery and there is a wide range of training opportunities avaialble for practitioners, beyond completion of apprenticeship studies. There are courses, events, information resources, and activities that can relate to updated regulatory requirements, new technologies and ways of improving customer relationships. Now in their third year, the PITAs have proved to be a great success in recognising and rewarding practitioners whose further training has enhanced their skills and knowledge and in turn added value to the plumbing industry overall.
You are encouraged to nominate a practitioner (it can be yourself) whose further training is a good example to others of what is available in the plumbing industry. In addition to industry recognition, each of the category winners will receive a valuable prize and an award to commemorate the achievement. A message from Tony Arnel, Plumbing Industry Commissioner.
