Are there penalties for not using a licensed plumber?

Only a licensed or registered plumber may legally undertake plumbing work in Victoria. There are significant penalties for undertaking illegal plumbing work, including performing plumbing work if you are not a licensed or registered plumber.  

If you wish to report a case where plumbing work has been undertaken by a person who is not registered or licenced, intitially you should contact the Plumbing Industry Commission, and ask to speak with the Duty Investigator.
