Tips on finding a plumber
If you're looking for a plumber, then you should consider the following advice to help you avoid costly problems down the track:
- Always use a licensed or registered plumbing practitioner
- Ask to see the practitioners photo ID card and check the expiry date to ensure it is current
- Check that the practitioner is licensed in the type of plumbing work to be undertaken (shown on the back of the card)
- Obtain three written quotes
- For any plumbing work which requires a compliance certificate to be issued, ensure you receive that compliance certificate
- Ask about your manufacturer's warranty conditions (some appliance manufacturers require a licensed plumber to install them. If you do not use a licensed plumber your product warranty and insurance may be jeopardised)
